I did like the rest of it though as long as I reminded myself that there are a lot of people who know nothing about horses and it is based on a children's book lol. Also I was impressed because they didn't make the horses fake neigh every ten seconds throughout the whole movie lol. That's my biggest pet peeve. So annoying. I've gotten over the whole using different horses because I know it's just something they have to do. They were beautiful horses anyway so I didn't mind hehe. But yeah I don't get my hopes up on horse movies because I know they just don't put that much effort into accuracies. Agree with Dressager, totally hope they make a movie about Snowman. :)Achieve1dreamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15401246064499148344noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1557992152073605177.post-48771454337765287602012-01-03T23:49:43.542-06:002012-01-03T23:49:43.542-06:00Seabiscuit really is a phenomenal movie. I haven't, and probably won't, but I find a vast majority of horsey movies to be filled with a sickening amount of ignorance. And even worse, I think some of them inspire non-horse people to go buy the prettiest little pony they can find (aka, the free or close to it, unhandled 2 y/o in some back yard breeder's shitty fence). And then someone gets kicked, dragged, trampled, crushed...

I mean, not every non-horse person is that ignorant, but there's a special snowflake in every bunch.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04821724997318014313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1557992152073605177.post-79757680266579348112011-12-29T20:54:23.797-06:002011-12-29T20:54:23.797-06:00This is why I don't watch horse movies. Some of my non-horse friends say I shouldn't see it because I will cry to much. I'm just sticking to my general rule that it is a horse movie so it will probobly get me angry so not worth watching.

I agree with the poster above, Seabiscuit is the best horse movie out there.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1557992152073605177.post-47286328651522892092011-12-28T21:14:25.549-06:002011-12-28T21:14:25.549-06:00The book was really good, even if a bit absurd at ...The book was really good, even if a bit absurd at times. I guess I will have to watch this movie as if I was a car-driving-only noob like the rest of the world. This was sad to hear, considering all the hype and potential awards around it.

I do hope they make a movie out of the Snowman story.

I guess I'll just have to stick with Seabiscuit as the best horse movie ever.

Oh, and Miracle of the White Stallions. Very good and pretty realistic as far as the story of Patton aiding the Spanish Riding School in getting away from Russian hands and essentially saving the school and the breed.Dressagerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04849960430806754249noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1557992152073605177.post-66545176197216251852011-12-28T19:15:23.467-06:002011-12-28T19:15:23.467-06:00Yep main pony was an OTTB named Finder. I mean I can't hate it too much, I'll go watch anything about a horse but it wasn't amazing or anything. I went mainly because a friend of mine works in Hollywood and worked on set when they filmed in Virginia and then worked on the color in post production. I DID get a laugh when no one wanted a tb and they pointed to the Shire and said "You want THAT!" Hehe, Klein-1, Yankee-0. Horses are so amazing; why do moviemakers feel the need to make them into oversized dogs, thus making them behave in ways horses would never in a million years behave, to make them 'likable'?
