Instead of easing back into dressage/jump training I think I will have some fun and switch it up totally and run some barrels with Yanks. I used to run in 4H and it was wicked fun. Yankee was never any good at it but my pony Spirit ran like the wind and could turn on a dime so we always won! I think it'll be a fun switch up for us and we can get out of the doldrums of winter training.

ReplyDeleteWhy not? Amber and I just had a total change of plans. Now instead of dressage and HUS, we're thinking of doing some jumpers and eventing.

Change can be a good thing!
Nah not permanent change just a change in schooling. We were having major anxiety issues about jumping/dressage so this break could be fun :) See if I can rustle up an endurance saddle since he hates western and get him all westerny for a week or two, lol.

Coming from an avid jumper and ex hunter I can tell you I LOVE eventing way more!
Barrels are something I really want to futz around with on Ozzy. Just a total change of pace.
