I don't know how hard it is for you all to get out and ride when there is nothing to work towards, like a show...but I have a tough time. My to do list keeps getting longer and longer and instead of facing the mountainous amounts of shit I have to do...I just take a nap. It feels great until I wake up, and then all the things are looming in front of me, menacingly, again.
Job searching is making me almost want to kill myself with frustration...you'd think there would be SOME jobs for a college graduate with a Bachelors degree in something worthwhile, but alas, only minimum wage shit jobs. I'm having lots of fun here.
So back to the horses...
I have issues making myself go out and ride when I know there is nothing really to work towards. I'm one of those people who is motivated by goals, and when I have nothing, it seems pointless (even though I know its not, but my efforts seem futile when I know I can't even afford the schooling shows here in town) to expend energy doing all the things necessary to ride. Since when did it become a laundry list & stop being fun?
Getting dressed, driving, grooming, tacking up, ACTUALLY riding, cooling out, un-tacking, cleaning stall, hosing off, turning out, etc. Thats a solid 2 hours. So much work dude...I'm either depressed or have developed an exceptionally lazy streak. Probably the latter of the two, fueled by the knowledge that I will be forever poor. Or maybe its a combination of both.
I'm seriously pathetic.
I'm also getting increasingly frustrated with the boarding situation. Since this is a public forum, I shall keep my mouth shut, but I really wish I had a barn of my own here in MO. It was so much easier.
There is one positive thing in my life (besides the boy toy, who spoils me), and that is the fact that I might've already found a leaser for Ponyface.
This is her, jumping a warmblood she leased in CA. Shes 28, and has a real job. Sounds legit.
She's coming to see Yanks next week sometime, so I guess that means I need to ride a little.
Thats all for now, blogettes. I leave you with a picture.

Whoah Dudes
Trying to stay positive...but with all of you buying new ponies, having wonderous adventures, competing in the AEC's and all that jazz...I'm having a hard time because that is all I want to do...not be working my ass off at minimum wage jobs, barely paying my bills..lusting after shows I can't attend.
I won't beat around the bush...
Yankee for lease again....tell your friends about my badass!
He's pretty legit.
Also Y U NO READ MY POSTS bloggerz!? Blogging traffic is dead these days.

Raging
You know what my least favorite part about living in MO is?
Not living back at home with my OWN barn with my OWN rules and no cryptic bitches lurking in the depths of judgement valley.
I've about had it with the melodrama and finger pointing.
Please excuse the expletive filled rant you might be about to read, but after a recent incident where I arrived in the morning to see my stall got soaked because of an overnight storm and a leaky roof, and words like "ridiculously neglectful and irresponsible" were thrown about, I lost my shit.
I will tell you guys one thing, I wish I could bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat and be happy....oh, sorry, mean girls quote there. But apparently grown ass women are reliving their high school days picking on people who have different values, schedules and income than they do.
I will FULLY admit, I am forgetful and spastic. I don't always rake every bit of hay up off the ground. I might leave a brush on a bench. I forget to bring my saddle pads in after they are drying sometimes. I don't feed super early in the morning. I leave my lunge line on a chair in the arena on occasion. But I make damn sure that my horses' stomach is full, he has clean water, his stall gets cleaned, his feet get done, cuts get ointment, fungus gets treated, coat brushed, kisses planted and he knows he is loved more than anything else in this world.
Yeah, I feed my horse everyday at 9AM, but who gives a flip? Sure, I feed him at 6:30PM every night, but WTF, who cares anyways. Oh, because YOU (or the barn worker) feed your horses at 6-7AM, and 4PM, I am the bad person here? Please excuse me for having a different schedule than you. Oh my god, I ONLY clean his stall once a day?! Jesus Christ, the world just might end. And holy shit, I only buy grain TWO bags at a time? Excuse me for being monetarily challenged and not being able to buy my grain in bulk or pay $400/mo for full care board. And lord almighty, PLEASE forgive me for not having time to ride him everyday...at least he isn't stuck in his stall 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365.
For fucks sake I care more about that horse than I do for myself. He eats before I do. He has been on a regular farrier schedule. He has a nicer winter coat than I do. I have NEVER neglected to do anything for that horse. Ever.
I am just SO TIRED of people judging ME for not being a tightwad, spastic old lady about my horse care regimen. People think horses are so fucking delicate that they have to be babied and never turned out, but guess what crazies, my horse is FINE and he has the same schedule every damn day. In fact, I bet he is happier than any of your horses who are stuck inside all day. And to note, he is shiny, dappled and FAT. Is that a sign of a neglected horse? I don't think so.
Boarding barns are unnecessarily full of drama. WHY do people not realize everyone has their own ways of doing things, and as long as the horses are in good health and happy, there shouldn't be any problems among boarders.
Do you guys feel that sometimes people are just too uptight about things? Am I not uptight enough?
I mean, I know my horse care rules, and I have yet to have one die on me...or even colic. And I'm pretty sure after 12 years of horse ownership and full responsibility for over 10 horses in my life, I think I know at least a little bit of what I'm doing by now.
But please, to whom it concerns, feel free to continue to judge me for things you don't understand, but this looks like a happy horse to me....

Fricking hate summer.
Post 260 by the waaaay.
Sitting here rocking out to 3OH!3, not really sure what to post or discuss since I'm basically the lamest mother-effer on the planet compared to others on here. Ya'll are putting me to shame.
Since I has no monies I suppose I won't be doing any more shows this fall, unless I can scrap up something by the 22nd, but I don't see that happening.
I also was SUPPOSED to go to the AEC's to groom for Stacey and another friend, but not only do I not have gas $$ for that drive, but work blacked out that weekend months ago because of football games and I couldn't RO even if I wanted to. GAH. HATE.
Lets see, been doing some of this...
Gave him a mohawk, which I think looks pretty fly. Also note how very fat he is...yes, thats a good thing. He is also shiny but filthy indoor mirrors cloak that a bit.
Slowly and steadly working on getting that topline back. Luckily his transitions are still perfect and he's doing a stellar job reaching forward and down in all 3 gaits. I have problems not asking for too much, forgetting he's out of shape a bit. Been jumping a little too, but nothing serious since we have nothing to work towards.
Sorry I've been slacking on posts, but our rides/lives are uninteresting and with no Jackie to snap pics, I HATE blogging without them.
Also, I really hate...like, LOATHE being outside when its hot and muggy. It was 80s for a week and I got all the things done. I was the responsibility champ! But then it got hot again and I'm like
On a different note, I don't know what the drought situation is like for all ya'll, but hay here is RIDICULOUS. I didn't realize it till I started hunting again ( I have about 15 bales left). Luckily I'm only buying hay for one horse and I spent $90 on 45 bales (which IS record cheap) in May, which has lasted me a long time with the grass we DID have.
Now though since we've had like and inch of rain this summer total (record that stood since like 1970) and the ground looks like Texas and everywhere is crunchy, hay is at $11/bale AVERAGE.
Yes, yes, I know, some of you pay this on a regular basis, so I shouldn't bitch, blah blah blah. BUT this is why I don't live in places where hay is that expensive. I absolutely cannot afford it. NORMALLY summers here are not this bad and we have plenty of hay to get us through winter.
So that means if I were to get the shittiest hay possible in the area (a lot of places are selling at $6-which is still high, but its like 5 hours away) it'd still be like $8/bale meaning I would have to get AT LEAST 40 bales...thats $320....THREE HUNNIT TWENTY for Christs sake!! I spent $90 last time!!!! And that 40 won't even last me through fall since there is no more grass..
gah.gah.gah.gah.gah.gah.gah.gah. <----panick attacking.
Excuse me while I go die now.

For Funsies
Yankee panties as a wittle baby thoroughbred.
DOHHHHHHH.
But seriously how HIDEOUS is that green halter....with bling. What was I thinking.
I found this while going through pics waiting to go into work. I was seriously bored.
I would update ya'll on my rides, but without pictures its just not as fun. Maybe one day I will condense it all down and make a post or something.
I needs a camera.

Colbert Piaffe's
I pretty much died while watching this.
Though, a passage is not "sideways prancing" as we all know.
But it was still really funny.

I'm Exceptionally Positive I'm Bipolar
...About riding, the weather, how fat I feel and such that is. Or maybe the WEATHER is bipolar and it seriously effects my productivity.
After my RAH RAH post about getting back on my horse, I had a meltdown and decided I was no longer going to ride...pretty much ever (see depressing FB status on July 25). And I changed my mind again. And again again. And now after watching the BAMFs in the Olympics, I decided I was going to the next one in 2016. And then it got hot again.
My poor pony.
Luckily I HAVE decided that I'm not going to stop riding for good, and once I get a solid, oh SIX paychecks under my belt and my finances taken care of, I will "start" showing again in September.
I say "start" because really that is the end of the season for MO, but there are a few nice jumper and CT shows nearby that are reasonably cheap that would be fun to do. Chesterfield has an amazing Jumper show at Ridgefield that I am absolutely going to do on the 22nd of Sept. I MUST.
I WANT TO WIN A BLUE NECK RIBBON SO BAD.
In the meantime, with the new jobs, classes beginning (hell weeks in CoMo) for students and fall settling in, I hope (crosses fingers jobs and laziness don't prevail) that I can do one jump sesh a week, one hack and one dressage school. I feel like I can do 3 rides a week. Not hard.
Especially once the weather settles its crazy ass down and gets back to normal temperatures I feel I will be wildly successful.
I gave my dressage saddle to Jackie to borrow till she gets her own so we shall dressage in jump tack! RAH! I can't believe I SHOWED eventing in jump tack for years. I only aquired a dressage saddle about 5 years ago.
Anyways, here is a sweet picture of all the ribbons I've won with the ponyface in Eventing and dressage. Didn't realize how many!
